Collection

As part of Disney's global campaign in celebrating Mickey's 90th anniversary, we launched a leather-themed collection that evoked a vintage, nostalgic feel, perfectly capturing the timeless essence of Mickey Mouse. The collection highlighted premium textures and classic design elements to honor the character's legacy while appealing to modern consumers.

The Challenge

The challenge was to add more items to complement the existing Mickey 90th leather collection designed by the Lead Designer. The new pieces needed to look professional and appeal to young adults and Disney fans.

The Solution

As part of the leather collection, I decided to incorporate a debossed Mickey icon on the exterior and playful inner patterns to bring more life to the design. The patterns showcase Mickey’s character designs throughout the years. I opted for a minimalist exterior to create a professional yet stylish look, balanced with a playful interior that reflects Mickey’s fun and lively personality.

Collaborated with the Lead Designer to ensure product design alignment, from concept design to production monitoring, distribution, and marketing support rollout.

01. Concept Design

Conducted user and market research, as well as a competitive analysis, to ensure the development of a trend-forward and competitive product.

- Developed product concepts and packaging, presented to internal stakeholders and Disney for approval.

- Prepared all necessary die lines and production file, ensuring all files are production ready.

02. Pre-Production Sampling

- Finalized materials to be used and specifications of each design elements.

- Double checked the quality of product to ensure it meets standards.

- Secured approvals from internal stakeholders and Disney, to proceed to mass production.

03. Production Monitoring

- Closely worked with manufacturers to monitor production progress and ensure quality of production.

- Constantly update Disney about production progress and product quality.

03. Marketing Support

- Conducted product shoots to use as assets for marketing collaterals.

- Designed digital marketing content for social media posting.
